How much water do I add to Kirapaddy?
For every 1 cup of rice, add 3 cups of water.
Do I need to use the same cup to measure water and rice?
YES! It is very important to use the same cup to measure both rice and water so that the proportion will be correct and your rice will be cooked well.
How long does Kirapaddy take to cook?
It cooks in the normal time and way any normal white rice cooks, you just have to add more water in the correct amount (1 cup rice : 3 cups water), usually taking only 30mins.
Why does Kirapaddy grow so much compared to normal rice?
You actually get up to 5 times each cup of Kirapaddy, whereas normal rice only gives you 2 times. The secret is in Kirapaddy's ability to take in large amounts of water, without turning wet and soggy. This is why we are so economical. Try it yourself!
Do you need to soak Kirapaddy in water?
No, you do not need to soak Kirapaddy in water before cooking! We recommend to rinse the rice 1 or 2 times (up to your preference) and add water to start cooking.
I prefer my rice to taste softer. How much water can I add?
The optimal amount of water is 1 cup rice : 3 cups water - but you can can 3 to 3.5 cups of water after rinsing. Adding 3.5 cups of water, the rice will be slightly softer but still not too wet.
Can Kirapaddy be kept overnight?
Yes, you can keep any leftover rice cooked overnight and use it fry rice or reheat by steaming the next day. Overnight Kirapaddy makes wonderful fried rice! Try it :)
How long can Kirapaddy last before it spoils or goes bad?
Kirapaddy, when kept well, can last up to 1 or even 2 years. The most ideal storage is in the fridge where it is kept cool. Do not store Kirpaddy near the stove or places with sunlight or heat. If you have any problems with Kirapaddy just give us a call and we can do a goodwill exchange for you!
